We have a vibrant Region, with the potential to be even better. We need to gain new members and retain the ones we have. By providing the services our members need, and encouraging more of our members to be actively involved, we can achieve high expectations.
We must utilize technology to ensure our Section leaders are properly trained, and our Area Chairs must keep a finger on the pulse of each Section in their area in order to best meet the needs of their area. With proper communication and focus, all Sections will become stronger and more effective.
It is the job of the leadership to help our members find their niche in IEEE. Whether serving as volunteers in government relations, career guidance efforts, or planning seminars, there is a place for everyone to grow professionally and become a part of our success.
In order to move the Region forward, we must all work together to achieve our strategic vision and mission. I look forward to serving the Region as Director-Elect in 2008-2009.
